In 1992 I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (with distinction) at the University of Victoria, B.C. I received the Pat Martin Bates scholarship for the most promising female art student that year. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of British Columbia with a specialisation in secondary art.
After teaching Technical Arts and other subjects in Calgary, I moved in 1997 with my husband to London and then Monaco where I continued to teach art and other subjects in public and private schools. The time in the south of France was only meant to be a few years, but it was such a great experience, artistically and otherwise, we ended up staying over there for close to 15 years!
I returned to Vancouver in 2013 with my husband and three daughters. Having seen a bit of the world, I am starting a new journey as a full time artist (at least as full time as a mother of three can be!). I was happy to be a member of the westside 'Artists in our Midst' group in Vancouver for 2015 with a main show in May at the Roundhouse Gallery in Yaletown and open studio show and sale weekend. I am looking forward to showing again this year in June, 2016.
I have recently been awarded Active Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists which is very exciting! This will bring new opportunities to show at and be involved with the Federation Gallery on Granville Island.
